PHOTOGRAPHY

First, only 35mm-Films (some Minoltas), step by step there were added more formats and systems.

1992 I found the panoramic camera Horizon 202 - I don't want miss it.

Since I've this polapola-project in my mind - a Polaroid (formerly a SX-70, now a SLR680) is always with me.

It's my "always-with-me"-camera. - A good compromise between size/weight and performance. - Anyhow there are less alternatives, because for me a swivel-mounted monitor is absolutely essential.

Canon A650IS

My "serious" camera with a pretty good Zeiss-lens (focal range of 24-120mm equiv).

An outrage for some of those DSLR-fetishists - because it's much slower, the jpegs are not very good (doesn't matter, because I shoot only RAWs) and the sensitivity is lower.

Anyhow this camera offers exactly those features I expected of
consequent dogital-photography:

  • iI want to see the picture "as it is" before I release the shutter (and spare me this typical quick control-look to the display).
  • reduction of the mechanical parts to a minimum - no fragile (and especially noisy) mirror-up-and-down-construction
  • a swivel-mounted display which delivers me from the restraint to look through an ocular - instead of this: total liberty of movement
  • constantly quick control of the brightness of the picture just by turning a wheel with the thumb
  • a closed system - no dust onto the sensor ...

May the R1 keep up for a long time ...

I don't really miss the "chemical" picture. The countless hours into the darkroom ... - it was charming, sure - but this wide range of possibilities of the digital workflow and the well-engineered print-technology of these days - i use a HP Photosmart Pro B9180 (A3+) - lead to constantly high-quality prints.
The way to the print ...

New series: "Workspaces: fairground"

NEW: Polapola-Project as Flash-version

The antithesis to the paragraph you read before... - The wish to shoot panoramic pictures with a fisheye-lens conducts me to this camera. It's very light-sensitive (6400ASA is a usable setting) and so I accepted the weaknesses of the DSLR-principle...

Highly recommended.
